It has been rammed down our throats that it is Valentine's Day today, but not everyone wants to celebrate it, maybe you are single at the minute or maybe you are a cynical Valentine's Day hater (not naming any names...me), but that doesn't mean that we can't treat ourselves! Or have a gander at some cute ginger related products that are out there.
The History Bit:
Saint Valentine's Day is a Christian holiday, celebrating the early saints Valentinus. The romantic association of this holiday was not invented by Clintons or Hallmark card companies as a money making scheme... but came about in the 14th Century at the time when chivalry and lovey dovey notions were at an all time high. In the 18th Century, literature illustrates that on this holiday tokens such as flowers, confectionary and cards were given by lovers to show their affection towards each other and the rest, my friends, is history! (Pun intended).
